Here is what happens inside the body

Humans unavoidably restrict their growth behaviors when they shift in to a protective mode. bruce lipton

Nervous System is responsible for monitoring and interpreting environmental signals
When it recognizes a threatening environmental signal externally or internally it sends out an alert

Stress source in our life do not come extrenal stimulus, they come from those automatic negative thoughts, they come from internally generated stress responses for the most part

When the hypothalamus receives the alert, it releases corticotropin releasing actor that is sent to the pituitary, which is the master control gland that can mobilize the 50 trillion cells in the body

The Hypothalamus can not distinguish between  something that is really threatening to you and something that you are creating for yourself

Pituitary gland releases adrenocorticotropic hormone ACTH that is sent to the adrenal glands.

Most people stay in that mode for most of the day

Your breath quickens as you lungs take in extra oxygen to feed the impeding muscle activity
the breath becomes more shallow and less deep which promotes a sense of calm

Glucose and fats are released from storage sites in to your blood stream. This supplies energy that your body needs to defend off the threat.

You cells go from growth condition into a protective mode, so they stop taking nutrients.

Your sense of sight and hearing becomes sharper to make you more alert

The heart beats faster sometimes up to 5 tis the normal rate

Certain blood vessels constrict especially to the digestive system

We are unable to make sound decisions under stress

The adrenal hormones directly repress of the immune system to conserve energy because it needs it for the muscles

These are the Systems affected by Stress
